Tall basin mixers for above-counter basins

A tall basin mixer is designed to provide extra height for above-counter and vessel basins. Compare the Tilba Tall Basin Mixer, Kianga Tall Basin Mixer and Broulee Tall Basin Mixer. Height alone does not establish fit: ask your plumber to check the dimension drawing, spout reach and outlet clearance against your basin before ordering.

Will this mixer fit your basin?

Before choosing a finish, check these five things using your basin and mixer dimension drawings:

1. Basin and mounting type — Is the basin above-counter, inset or undermount? Will the mixer sit on the basin or benchtop?
2. Outlet clearance — Measure the basin rim and water outlet from the same mounting surface. Overall tap height is not outlet height. Check there’s usable space for washing hands.
3. Spout reach — Mark the tap-hole centre and outlet position on a top-view drawing. The outlet should extend over the basin opening, not the rim. Basin shape and water direction also affect splashing.
4. Handle space — Check the handle’s full movement against the wall, splashback and basin, with room for cleaning.
5. Installation fit — Confirm tap-hole diameter, benchtop thickness and space underneath for fixings and hoses against the installation instructions.
